Welcome to a monthly series where I document the performance of my Pokémon booster box portfolio.
I started this series back in 2021 and re-introduced it late last year.
Whenever I make a Pokémon investment, I send an alert to all paid subscribers of this newsletter.
I haven’t bought anything recently so that is why you’ve haven’t seen one.
You can blame this insane market for that.
In the alerts, I tell you what I’m buying. What you do with that information is up to you.
Looking back, I was extremely close to calling the local top of the Pokémon market.
I was only a month early.
A pullback like this was inevitable and so far it appears pretty healthy.
I don’t see panic and I haven’t come across people claiming prices will never recover and that the cards are all going to end up worthless.
(I wish it would return, this is my favorite time to buy)
The future is anyone’s guess right now.
It could recover and hit new all-time highs again next year or it could continue to soften.
A couple year long bear market is a real possibility, especially if the Pokémon Company ever catches up on printing and floods the market with product.
The bullwhip effect in trading cards is something that truly cannot be avoided.
