Building a Supplement Company From Scratch - March 2024 (new series)

Proving that anyone can build a multi-million dollar empire from scratch.

Back in late 2018, I had made several attempts at dropshipping but never made any real money doing it.

I was ready to give up on the idea, but decided I would give it one last try.

On that last attempt I decided to do things a little differently:

1. Instead of selling cheap shit from China, I decided to find something made in the United States

2. Find a way to get it to my customer as fast as possible upon ordering

After searching for weeks for American manufacturers I found a small business in Virginia that was willing to make a product that could be customized and/or personalized.

Upon reaching out to them, they also quickly agreed to ship my orders for a flat fee.

Following that agreement, I spun up Facebook ads that targeted people older than 50 and immediately started printing money.

This business did $500,000 in revenue in just over 18 months at a ~30% profit margin:

I went on to sell it in 2020 and walked away with a little bit of cash which made leaving my job as an engineer a lot easier:

Since exiting, I’ve missed the process of building a brand from scratch and making it profitable.

However, every time I contemplated running it back (for real this time, not dropshipping) I could not come up with a product idea that I was passionate about.

I spent four years searching and came up empty.

That all changed earlier this year after getting some inspiration from a product created by TJ (the owner of Ramp Health, click here to follow him on X).

His social anxiety supplement called “B4” inadvertently helped me with a problem I have about once a week, even though it has nothing to do with social anxiety.

After receiving some consultation from TJ and getting the green light from him about solving this issue with a more targeted product, I set the wheels in motion.

I have already paid $2,000 up front for help with formulation and locked down a domain for the future website.

That may sound wild, but when I decide to move on an idea I MOVE on an idea.

The intended use of the supplement will remain private for now, but I will reveal it here in pre-launch.

This new series for paid subscribers will document the creation and operation of this business and begin immediately.

Let’s see if we can document the creation of a multi-million dollar business from start to finish.

I will share the highs and the lows, even if it fails spectacularly.
